Here you will find materials to help plan and promote Pushing the Limits events, as either stand-alone events or as a series, and the book lists and discussion questions that also appear on the individual Theme pages. There are also resources from the NOAA to help your communities be resilient during climate change.
Promoting Your Bookclub Events
If you are promoting a Pushing the Limits program we recommend starting your planning and marketing 2 months before your program date. This way you can reach more people and participants will have time to read the book and watch the videos before your event.
We can also share resources with you to help plan Pushing the Limits events.
Themes, Booklists, and Discussion Questions
Our Theme Guide will facilitate your event planning and assist you in moderating your Pushing the Limits discussions.
We have also have grouped together all of the booklists and discussion questions from the individual Theme pages.

Climate Resiliency Resources
The NOAA has many website tools that can help you understand extreme weather events related to climate change, and the impact they will have on your specific community.
The State Annual and Seasonal Time Series is a NOAA tool that includes graphics of historical minimum, maximum, and average temperatures in U.S states since 1895.
The NOAA Data Set Gallery is an extensive catalogue of maps, graphs, charts, news, and teaching materials that can be used to synthesize useful information for a particular geographic area.
The NOAA Climate Explorer offers a climate resilience toolkit for any county in the U.S. With customizable predication data, it can be used to understand how climate conditions may change in a particular location over the next several decades.
In the Sea Level Rise Viewer, the NOAA provides the ability to preview the impact of sea level rise and coastal flooding for specific areas. It highlights vulnerabilities, helps identify risks, and demonstrates changing flood frequency.
With the Cities Impacts & Adaption Tool (CIAT) the NOAA has created a helpful climate adaption planning tool for communities in the upper Midwest region, and especially for those near the Great Lakes. It includes information about how climate change will affect their homes, communities, and surrounding areas. CIAT also provides a database of adaptation action strategies.
Additional online resources are listed and described in the NOAA Scientist Resources document.
